Incorporation Monitoring Facility

VKTA operates a Monitoring Facility for Incorporation Measurements specified by the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and Agriculture (SMUL) pursuant to Section 41 of the Radiation Protection Ordinance for the Free State of Saxony (Incorporation Monitoring Facility, previously paragraph 6 Section 63 of Radiation Protection Ordinance).

This also includes a measuring station at the "Felsenkeller Low-Level Laboratory" where very exact measurements can be taken because of its shielding by thick rock.

Incorporation measurements when handling open and/or natural radioactive substances

Interpretation and dose assessment on the basis of the measured values

Formulation of recommendations for protection and monitoring

Advise on the handling of natural radioactive substances

Examination of procedures for the obligation of obtaining authorisations and of disclosure to the authority
